Those listening to the Radio of the Athletics and St. Louis at Philadelphia’s ball game1:  John L. Sullivan, Ralph, Tomie and William Williams Sr., Ed Washerton, Gordon O’Connell.


1Athletics and St. Louis at Philadelphia’s ball game.  The Philadelphia Athletics were at the top of the American League that year, with 102 wins and 52 losses.  The St. Louis Cardinals were top of the National League, with 92 wins and 62 losses.  This was Game 6 of the World Series, with Philadelphia winning 7 to 1.  It was Philadelphia’s second straight World Series.

The pitcher, George Earnshaw, held the Cardinals scoreless until the ninth inning.
